It’s not about the art. It’s about how the place will live. It’s about creating the emotional glue between people, place and the walls that define the experience. It’s about creating a unique sense of belonging — the art of placemaking.

The Art of Placemaking

You gotta stand out and connect.

Whatever it is, tell your story in a different way. It’s okay to be a little weird.

North End Terraces by Hopper Communities was looking to enhance their new townhome development by bringing a level of connection to the community and tenants with the introduction of five industrial-inspired murals.

Truth is, walls can talk.

Art has a way of stepping in, in order to tell a bigger story.

A massive renovation was in place to transform the Loveland Public Library in Loveland, Colorado. The goal to tell Loveland’s story of iconic skiing, trails, rivers and random nature was captured in the idea and layers of graphic art, symbolism and typography — all catering to its energetic audience in the Teen Department.

Placemaking is in my blood.

You have to do what you know and love.

Having a background in architecture, art and design, I understand the parameters and considerations of the built environment, as well as the visual language needed to emotionally connect to those who experience a place. Along with a full gut of intuition, I lean on empathy and insight to fuel the story, in order to be relevant. That being said, the real fun is all about how you tell the story.
